Prairie Harvest Employment Program (PHEP) is a non profit, community based organization that strives to create opportunities that benefit individuals, families and the community.
1. "Green Sweep": Yorkton's curbside recycling program
Our crew currently pick up approximately 2700 blue bins weekly from Yorkton's residents. All recyclable materials are delivered to the Kinsmen Recycling Centre where the materials are processed and shipped. Call our office for more information and to have your blue bin delivered.
2. Odd Job Squad
PHEP provides temporary labour to businesses and individuals within the city of Yorkton. Potential employers can call our office to arrange employment opportunities.
3. Fine Options Program
PHEP provides opportunities for individuals to work off fines through the Provincial Court system.
Program Description
PHEP is targeting individuals who are facing challenges or difficulties in their current circumstances that might inhibit them from seeking and retaining employment.
PHEP staff will encourage, role model, and promote strong work ethic, attendance, punctuality, and positive relationships as a basis for future employment.
PHEP will target social and skill development of participants through practical life skills, counseling, correction, encouragement and job coaching.
PHEP will link its participants to other appropriate community resources to meet specific personal needs.
PHEP will take a holistic approach to assisting individuals including assisting with finding stable living situations, recreational activities and educational opportunities.
PHEP participants will acquire specific training and certificates (CPR/First Aide, WHIMS, etc.).
PHEP participants will be involved in a variety of different job activities.
PHEP establishes connections in the community to access employment placements for participants when appropriate.
